Abstract:

The study of strong KT geometry has received notable attention over recent years. This has been motivated partly by the quest for canonical choices of metric compatible with a given complex structure and partly by the relevance of such geometries to super-symmetric theories from physics. Invariant strong KT geometry on, e.g., low-dimensional solvable Lie groups can be handled rather straightforwardly, but in general one would like to have a tool for systematic investigation. Inspired by the role of moment maps in Kähler geometry, one is lead to the notion of multi-moment maps. In my talk I will review the notion of strong KT geometry, and talk about recent developments. I also discuss the theory of multi-moment maps.
