New Physics Prize awarded to Maxim Kontsevich

The Fundamental Physics Prize 2012 is awarded to QGM Professor Maxim Kontsevich, IHÉS, for numerous contributions which have taken the fruitful interaction between modern theoretical physics and mathematics to new heights, including the development of homological mirror symmetry, and the study of wall-crossing phenomena. It is the most lucrative academic prize in the world ($ 3 million per winner), established by The Milner Foundation in 2012. Further Maxim Kontsevich is to participate in the Selection Committee to award future prizes.
