Abstract:
In an earlier work, we prove that if $G$ is simple simply laced algebraic group of adjoint type, then the neutral component of the automorphism group of a smooth Schubert variety $X(w)$ is a quotient of the stabiliser of $X(w)$ in $G.$ In the recent we show that given any parabolic subgroup $P$ of $G$ ( $G$-simply laced ) there is a Schubert variety $X(w)$ in $G/B$ such that $P=Aut^{0}(X(w))$. We also explain the automorphism groups of some toric varieties in $G/B$.
