The differential K-theory is a refinement of the topological K-theory incorporating differential forms. I will talk about a factorization of the map given by squaring odd differential K-classes. The corresponding result in the case of differential ordinary cohomology (the group of Cheeger-Simons differential characters, or the smooth Deligne cohomology) will also be reviewed.
