Abstract: Logarithmic connections on Riemann surfaces is the geometric point of view on a class of singular ordinary differential equations. Obviously, these are fundamentally important objects, and there are many different ways to think about them. I will explain the way I like to think about them and give some concrete examples. The prerequisites are basic understanding of Riemann surfaces, sheaves, vector bundles, and categories.
