Abstract:
In this talk, we discuss the connected component ( containing the identity automorphism ) of the automorphism groups of some smooth projective varieties such as smooth Schubert varieties, Bott-Samelson-Demazure-Hansen varieties, some smooth compactifications of $PGL(n , C)/T$, the thematic closure of $\bar{T}$ in the wonderful compactification $\bar{G}$ of a semisimple adjoint group $G$. Here $T$ is a maximal torus of $G$.
